Privacy Policy
Last updated July 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DocksDeck (“DocksDeck,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use our marina-management software and website at docksdeck.com (the “Service”). We provide the Service to marina operators (“Customers”), who use it to manage slips, reservations, and records for their own boaters.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Name, email address, and the marina you belong to, collected when you sign in. We support Google sign-in and email sign-in links; authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Marina and boater data. Information a Customer enters to run their marina — docks and slips, reservations, boater contact details, vessel details, notes, and uploaded documents (such as insurance or registration). This data is controlled by the Customer.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles card data under its own terms and PCI compliance.
- Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate users and secure accounts.
- To process subscription payments and send transactional email (for example, booking notifications and account messages).
- To respond to support and contact requests.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use boater or marina data for advertising.
Roles: controller and processor
For personal information about a Customer’s boaters and marina operations, the Customer is the data controller and DocksDeck acts as a processor that handles the data on the Customer’s behalf. For account information about the Customer’s own staff and for website visitors, DocksDeck is the controller.
Service providers we share with
We share information with vendors who process it only to provide services to us, under contract:
- Google Cloud & Firebase — hosting, database, file storage, and authentication.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Resend — delivery of transactional email.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as an account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Customers can delete records within the Service. When a Customer closes their account, we delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and tenant isolation — to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because much of the data is controlled by the Customer whose marina you interact with, requests about boater or marina data may be directed to that Customer. To make a request to DocksDeck, contact us using the details below.
International users
DocksDeck is operated from the United States, and information may be processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to countries with different data-protection laws than your own.
Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
